Disney World Trip Planning Fun

If you are planning a family vacation to Disney World you have probably started some preparation.   Regardless of where you are in the process my advice to you is start having fun.  Yes, even if you just started getting things planned it’s time to start having fun.

There is no doubt your trip to Disney world will be a memorable vacation for your family.  But the planning stage should also be fun for the entire family.  If you are planning your first trip get your family prepared to have some fun.  This is especially true for the younger children.

Disney World Online

You can check Disney World out on the internet and share the experience online with your children.  Talk to them about your upcoming visit.  Include them in the plans and decisions.  As you do this you will see the excitement grow each day.  Let the kids give their input into choices for dining.

Planning

Your planning should begin with a visit to disneyworld.disney.go.com the official Disneyworld site online.  This will provide you with the most accurate information on ticket prices, hours, and special Disney promotions.  You can get information from other locations but verify the information on the official site.

Plan your trip details including attractions you intend to visit at the various parks and places to dine.   If you are staying onsite at one of the Disney resorts you will also want to plan your trip for flexibility to take in the extra magic hours made available for resort guests.   These are hours specific parks open early or stay open late for just resort guests.

Sit down dining usually requires a reservation which will require some extra planning.   If you intend to take in any character dining you will need to make these reservations several weeks in advance of your trip.  This is another good reason to plan the daily details of your park visits.

Park Hopper Options

There are a lot of options available when it comes to park tickets for Disney World.  The word of advice here is to purchase the ticket options that best meet your needs.  If you plan to visit more than one park in a day you will need the hopper option for your Magic Your Way ticket.  Hopper ticket upgrades are available at ticket booths throughout Disney World including the resorts in the event you decide to visit more than one park in a day.

Park Transportation

Within Disney World there is ample transportation by bus, monorail or boat between theme parks and the resorts.  You will need to allow a little waiting time for transportation but generally you can travel between resorts and parks within 30-60 minutes including any wait times.

Crowded times

Disney World is a popular place and it will get crowded.  Arriving at the park entrance half an hour before the park opens will allow you to enter the park when the gates open 15 minutes earlier than the park will open.    The first hour after the park opens the lines will be shorter than they are the rest of the day.   In fact during the first few hours of the day you will get more done than you will for the remainder of the day.

Fast Passes

Fastpasses are complimentary from Disney World.  The fastpass allows you to reserve a time for a ride and then visit other attractions within the park rather than waiting in line for an attraction.

With just a little planning your family can enjoy every stage of a Disney World vacation from the initial planning to the ride back home.  More than likely you will not be able to do everything during your visit.  But every moment can be packed with fun.
