Most Suitable Age for Children to Visit Disney World
Filed under Tips
Families have taken children of all ages to Walt Disney World. It is difficult to determine what is the most suitable age for children to visit Disney World?
Having experienced taking children under age 3 to Disney World I would have to say it had some real benefits and I would eagerly do it again with a small child.
The parks do offer rides that are suitable for this age group and the playground areas are entertaining for them as well. It is recommended to be sure to take a stroller for young children. They will get tired throughout the day and if you have a reclining stroller they can easily nap while riding in the stroller.
It is also a great idea to stay on Disney property with young children. One parent can easily return to the resort for the young child’s nap while the other parent and siblings continue to enjoy their day in the park. The accessible transportation available from parks to resorts makes going back and forth throughout the day comfortable even with a stroller.
The wide use of cell phones has made it easy to communicate from the parks to the resort or even within the park when you may become separated from your group.
Children under 3 do not have to purchase a ticket to gain entrance to the parks. The cast members throughout Disney World provide extra attention to the smallest children. The Disney characters will interact one on one with the toddlers providing them with an extra delight. You will find photos with the characters and your little one will be in abundance.
Many of the attractions throughout all the parks allow for a parent to ride with the young children giving them lots of attractions to enjoy.
You should carry some things along with you and your young child or baby some things to help assure for a pleasant day such as:
1. Change of cloths
2. Diapers (age appropriate)
3. Baby Wipes
4. Ointment for diaper rash
5. Pacifier (age appropriate)
6. Juice
7. Sippy cups
8. Baby food (age appropriate)
9. Healthy snacks such as cheese crackers, cereal, or fruit.
10. Sunscreen for kids
11. Camera, film, and batteries
12. Cell phone for communicating
13. Child Leash (as appropriate or needed)
A child of any age will enjoy a visit to Walt Disney World and with some good planning you will also enjoy taking them with you. Many families have built a tradition of an annual or at least every 2-3 year trip to Disney World.
Although children over 3 may have more attractions they can experience, children under 3 will experience enough of Disney’s Magic to make the trip worthwhile and with not cost for tickets for kids under the age of three it is great entertainment without any cost.
Each family will have to look at their own situation to determine the most suitable age for your child’s first Disney experience. Taking a child of any age to Disney World is sure to bring laughs and smiles from the child and for you as well. You will be eager to plan your next visit to build more magical memories.
