Strolling Through Disney World

Disney World is frequently referenced as a magical city of its own.    The entire Disney world Property including the four major theme parks, multiple water parks, numerous resorts, and Downtown Disney all have winding walkways that can take a toll on even the most active of adults and kids alike.  Walking through Disney World for young children and challenged adults could shorten the visit or perhaps prevent planning a trip to the magical wonderland of Disney World.

All of Disney World modes of transportation including bus, boat, and monorail are accessible vehicles for child strollers, manual wheelchairs, and motorized chairs making a visit to Disney World especially magical for families with small children and for those of all ages who require assistance with mobilization.

STROLLERS FOR CHILDREN

Families can always bring along their own strollers, wheelchairs or motorized chairs if they desire but if not and they have need of one each of the theme parks at Disney have them available for rent.

Disney World offers single and double strollers for kids.  You should be aware these strollers are not as comfortable or as easy to maneuver as the traditional type of stroller may be.   It can also be difficult to manage the double strollers in the Disney crowds and especially in the restrooms.  Many families prefer to bring along their strollers for their small children.  This is easily done with the accessible transportation.

The really nice thing with strollers being available to rent at the theme parks is if you did not plan to use a stroller but your children become tired you can rent a stroller at whichever park you are at for the day.   Perhaps if you have carried the little ones throughout the day you need the stroller to give yourself a rest.

You’re your trip to Orlando required long distance travel and you opted not to travel with a stroller but would like a stroller  during your vacation you can always purchase a stroller in one of the shopping areas available in the Orlando area.
 
ADULT MANUAL WHEELCHAIRS AND STROLLERS

Adults who require the use of wheelchairs or motorized chairs on a routine basis they probably will bring along their own chair to Disney World.   Accessible transportation and seating for attractions and dining make it possible for those needing accessibility to enjoy the parks along with their families.

For those who may only need assistance with extensive walking renting either a manual or motorized chair at the Disney World parks is a great option than can allow them to extend their day in the park without becoming overly tired.

Each of the parks has a limited number of chairs available especially the motorized chairs.  It is highly recommended that you reserve a chair in advance if it is a necessity; otherwise you may be disappointed that it is not available especially on busy days at the parks.
 
You should attach a luggage tag to your stroller while at Disney.  With so many look alike strollers it can also be helpful to personalize your stroller in some way to assist with quick identification of your stroller.
